Zigging and Zagging

Urban Outfitters sunglasses, SmartFit shoes, H&M socks, Harajuku shirt, H&M skirt

Gosh. She is just so adorable sometimes! My sister, I mean. This was taken not with our usual Pentax K7 camera but with an iPad so the quality is rather poor. But who cares?! Me, I guess... And you maybe... Oh nevermind. So I styled and photographed this shoot, and I do have to say, those socks are just darn amazing. I was trying to go for pattern conjunction, and I'm extremely glad that it didn't look too busy. Anyways! I'm back home! I hope that tonight I will finally get a good nights sleep. This has not happened for about, hm, let's see... MY WHOLE LIFE.
But enough with my problems! Holidays are coming soon, and I know it's about coming together with family and friends and having a feast and all, but I do have to say that I very much like getting presents. I sound pretty greedy right now, don't I?
SO. I didn't get swamped with homework and I am surprised but don't get me wrong, utterly satisfied as well. Who likes homework?! No one. Besides Hermione Granger possibly, but it seems at Hogwarts homework is not quite common. Lucky wizards and witches. How I wish that Hogwarts was real. I would so attend!
Now, (again), enough with my aspirations! I have been waiting for the December issue of Teen Vogue, but it JUST WON'T HURRY UP AND COME IN THE FREAKING MAIL. Perhaps I need to get a new subsription. Perhaps not. Wait, does this count as problems? Okay I'll stop!
Now that I'm kind of running out of things to say, as I did not come prepared, BYE!

Words Through Pictures

A photo of Elle Fanning turned into a painting.

Even though I was supposed to be coming back to Maine this morning, we were offered to stay another day in New York State. Obviously, we took the offer. I am feeling rather sick today. I cannot tell if I'm homesick or just have a common headache. I think I just have a common headache. So to finish my point, I still do not have the technology necessary to upload photos. Instead, I found this painting/photo/whatever it is of one of my idols, Elle Fanning, and was mesmerized! Therefore, I decided to use this picture. It was originally from a Valentino photoshoot, but an artist either edited the photo, or created an amazing painting based on it. Any way, it's perfect.

Last night, I had the idea of doing a Harry Potter movie marathon, (perhaps some of the best movies ever made, alongside Get Smart, the Psych series, The Devil Wears Prada and The Curve of Forgotten Things, but anyways), and we started on the fifth, but only ended up watching the fifth since it was eleven o'clock, and we were all tired. I will be watching the next three today, to my pleasure, while eating tons of popcorn and sugary drinks and whatnot. I am utterly exhilarated!

It is snowing right now. I am a bit confused. Yesterday, and the day before, and the day before were all sunny. What happened?! I'm now angry. Sorry, I get a bit carried away when I am aggravated.

Really, I need to go to the mall! I have not gone since August, and ever since, my mom says, 'let's go next weekend'! It has been many weekends and I still haven't gone. But enough complaining, the reason for this is that H&M supposedly has really good clothes at the moment. I have been saving up, and am desperately in need of a colorful cardigan, what perfectness! I better go tomorrow. Or the next weekend. (Yeah, right.)

Pretty Self Explanitary.

Picture from http://polly-bean.tumblr.com

Golly, it seem there is a comic for every one of my frusrations! Today my chin is hurting. Yes, now that I see that typed, that looks like a rather silly concern, but it truly does hurt! I think I wacked it on a car door yesterday afternoon. Hey! I was tired. I am tired again today. Not very happy about that. On the bright side, (I honestly have no idea why I did not mention this yesterday. Brain cramp.), two days ago, I got a very nice shirt from Target! You may have seen the "Artist Collection", it is from that. Have you heard of Cleo, the orange fish in Pinocchio? Well, on the shirt, there is a sparkly version of her! It is kind of a sweater but kind of not.

Thanksgiving. My favorite part about this holiday I would have to say is the turky. I don't know what I would do without it! I have once in my life attempted to be a vegetarian. It only lasted about ten minutes. Guitly as charged.

I am suddenly loving dreamy kind of looks, with lots of blues and soft colors. I love the look of lighter, pastel based outfits with black accents. It looks so sophisticated! I am also really feeling lighter floral patterns, as always. I like to bring a bit of spring and summer to these (shudder....) dreary, chilly days. It seems nowadays I am always ending a post with a complaint about winter! Gosh, I'll stop now.

BiZoU

Totally in love with this right now. Bizou is a store, filled to the brim with amazing accessories, that are for a surprisingly good price! As a matter of fact, I popped into this store while I was on my trip in Quebec city last spring. I rediscovered it while hanging out on teenvogue.com. I got a rose hair clip, that I haven't posted about yet and I am scolding myself for that fact!

THANK GOODNESS. It's vacation, finally! It'd kind of hard to get out of that summer vacation mode back into school mode. I have been getting rather overwhelmed with the homework. I have been getting a whole lot more than the previous year! That does not do much for my schecule.

So now that it is vacation, I will not be here to do many posts over the next week. Therefore I am doing two posts today to catch up a bit. And I would like to say thank you, whoever you are, for caring enough to actually read this! Goodbye, and have a fantabulous break!

Sweet Little Traveler

Right now, I am so in love with any one of Hayao Miyazaki's anime works. My Neighbor Totoro would most definitely be my favorite, partly because Elle Fanning stars in it.... Gosh I just love that girl. I also really like the little bouncing mini Totoros and random creatures, oh wow, they are just so cute!

But anyways! Happy Thanksgiving, my dear readers! I am in New York, and oh my, it is so warm and sunny, I wish I could stay here until it's summertime again. However it is shockingly cold here in the spring. My dad is currently playing a violent video game that is scaring me out of my skin!

For some odd reason I am getting a craving for Lolita style clothes, and bows and girly things. That, mixed with a bit of rugged things, to balance it out. I like to have the right amount of girly and tomboy in everything--I hope that's relatable.

Now, here's a little song to cheer you up; Zou Bisou Bisou, sung by Gillian Hills. I think. I adored this video--it's so cute and happy! I love the way she moves her head. Beware, it is not in English. I believe it is in French, but I cannot be sure.

wintertime summarized

I'm really not a winter person. I don't like to be cold. I don't like to have to bundle up in giant jackets. And I most definitely do not like the middle of the school year, when everything is a blur, and you're just waiting. Waiting for summer. Or I'm waiting for summer. And for school to end. And for testing to be over. I'm waiting for a whole lot of things.

And I like to be able to go to the beach.

Winter is not for me.

But! Fear not. This will not be simply me complaining about winter. Free People! A new collection has arrived. We got a winter catalogue and I am stunned. The theme is fairy tales. It's separated into sections, starting with Snow White, ending with the Twelve Dancing Princesses. I loved this set up so much, I was quite inspired! I am planning on purchasing something from this collection for Christmas. Wow! Only thirty eight days already!

Practicality

Aloha people! It was actually sunny today! Apparently, Thanksgiving is supposed to get up to FIFTY FIVE degrees! I am exhilarated. Except for the part where I am not actually going to be here for Thanksgiving, for I am spending that few days I have off in New York! I am rather exited about the New York bit, but of course. One of the one merry days in New England that is warm and I ain't gonna be here.

But! Fear not young lassies! Yesterday, I rediscovered a pair of penny loafers in my room. Today, I didn't exactly have anything to match my outfit, so I just wore those thinking, what the heck?! Why not. They do happen to be a size to big, to my dismay, but I was quite appreciative for my discovery when I saw the label. (Liz Claiborn!) These are a plain brown, however, at Target I gawked at a pair of penny loafers that looked sort of like Merrimekko! They were a bit to expensive, and at the moment I am broke, but I plan to save up my money for a pair! They are pretty spectacular, especially in the royal blue I saw.

Finally, conferences have ended. And I believe the first trimester of school has too! If the next two trimesters go by as fast as this one did, I am going to start preparing for summer. Oh, dear summer, how I long for you. As you may have heard me moan on about before, winter time is really not my thing.

i remember you

Many, many, MANY apologies for not doing a post in a while. I have been preoccupied with my other blog. The true owner of this blog, Elspeth, has another blog now, revolving around music. You should go check it out! The URL is http://musicgeeks101.blogspot.com.

Now, have you heard of Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Ready-To-Wear collection? Gosh golly, I hope so! For those of you that have not, here is the full runway show.

After experiencing that awesomeness, you should now be dropping your mouth in amazement. I absolutely adore how they're sporting pants with skirts, a completely underestimated combination. Nowadays, Marc Jacobs is designing the Louis Vuitton runways and the runway clothes. He must be tired, multitasking and all!

Farewell! Hope you come again when there's another post to read!
